Part of the job description of being a celebrity is being a role model. Perhaps there are a few men and women in Hollywood that tend to forget that small little portion of their job, but there are plenty that don’t. There are dozens of men in Hollywood that actually do good deeds, behave and give other men across the world something to look up to, and those are the men that are often the most admired. I can, off the top of my head, think of 10 actors, athletes and other celebrities that give the men in our world something to shoot for, something to look up to and all for good reason. Read on to find out which male celebrities men admire most – or should, anyway.
George Clooney
The man is a superstar. He’s aging well, he behaves and he’s a newly married, reformed playboy who dated some of the most beautiful women in the business without compromising his desires. Now he’s got a smart, beautiful, intelligent, and successful young wife to call his own, and his career is on fire. He’s the epitome of class and grace, and he is always involved in charitable work that helps the less fortunate.
Brad Pitt
First and foremost, he’s been married to Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie, and men are not hating his good fortunate. Or maybe they are; I don’t know. He’s famous, rich, happy to be a father to a brood of cute kids, and he’s involved in many philanthropic programs that give back. He’s also handsome, and he’s got the whole package.
Justin Timberlake
Aside from being the man who got to date some of the hottest women in Hollywood before marrying one of them and then having a baby with her, he’s someone people really look up to. He’s hot, he’s rich, he is funny and he has made on heck of a career for himself. He’s got it going on, and it’s something that most men look up to with a bit of envy and awe.
Mark Zuckerberg
Here’s one that I’m sure will get a few questions from readers. Mark Zuckerberg is not your typically Hollywood celebrity. He’s not what you might consider a heartthrob, despite being a nice looking man. He’s a smart man. He’s well educated, he started a business when he was very young and he managed to become a billionaire about 3 minutes after becoming potty trained. Okay, so not quite that young, but pretty darn young. Creating Facebook was a stroke of genius, and this is a man who makes it a point to treat his friends and family and employees very well, and he also makes it a point to do good for the world. If you’re not looking up to him, now is the time to do just that.
Michael Strahan
Who doesn’t admire a man who played football, talks sports and gets to sit next to Kelly Ripa every single day? He’s funny, self-deprecating, intelligent and wise. He’s a family man who spends ample time with his kids, and he’s got it going on. He’s certainly someone to be admired in every aspect of his life.
Mark Wahlberg
There was a time in his life in which he was not someone that anyone would have ever thought to look up to. He was known for making racist remarks, beating up people of different ethnicities and for being a drug user and alleged dealer. He was then a model and then he was a musician, and then he became an actor. It was then that he decided he would turn his life around and become the kind of man that he should be for his family and his fans, who looked up to him so. He’s done a stellar job.
Jay-Z
He’s the most famous rapper in the world, and he’s married to Beyonce. That’s all people need to know to look up to him. In all seriousness, however, he went from selling drugs on the streets of New York to help is mother pay bills growing up to working hard to become one of the most successful personalities in the business and music industry, and that has turned him into a serious role model for men and women and children.
LeBron James
He’s going to go down in history as one of the best NBA players in the history of the game. We are talking about a young man who was so good he was drafted right away, and who single-handedly brings his team to the top every single moment of every game without once taking all the credit for himself, even though we all see it’s all him. He was a bit hated when he left Cleveland, but it’s like the world forgot he left when he came back, and they’re happier than ever to have him back.
Matt Damon
He’s a man worth looking up to. Not only is he a successful actor with a great mind, he’s also a family man who is dedicated to his wife and his four daughters. He’s often with them instead of being out on his own, he’s not into the press or the red carpet, and he’s just a normal guy in Hollywood standards. It’s been a nice ride for him, and he is certainly someone worth looking up to.
Robert Downey Jr
A decade ago, he would not have been anywhere near even being considered on a list like this. He was a drunk, drug addicted, trouble making mess. He was in trouble with the law. He was in jail. He was in rehab. He was everywhere but where he needed to be. He finally decided that he needed to make some changes, and he’s changed his life like no one I can recall. He’s clean, he’s more famous than ever, and he’s really working hard to change his image and be a better person. He’s the most amazing example of what a role model should look like.
