BTS has dropped the epic music video for the “Mic Drop” remix with Steve Aoki and Desiigner, which you can watch below.
The track is a Korean-English remix of BTS’ original “Mic Drop,” which appears on the K-Pop group’s Love Yourself: Her album. The group’s agency, Big Hit Entertainment, announced the surprise collaboration earlier this month to thank BTS’ fans, the ARMY, for all their support since the release of Love Yourself: Her, which topped both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts.
While the track on BTS’ music video doesn’t feature Desiigner, the official song being released on iTunes and Spotify includes the rapper in the first verse.
Desiigner tells Billboard “I add that extra energy to it,” and explains the idea of a collaboration with BTS came after the two met at the Billboard Music Awards in May. Most recently, BTS and Desiigner reunited at the American Music Awards this past Sunday.
BTS made its live U.S. television debut on the AMAs with a performance of “DNA.” It was the first time any K-Pop group ever performed on the AMAs stage, or on any American award show.
The group is expected to perform the “Mic Drop” remix on television for the first time on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, November 27th.
