Television wouldn't be the same without Eva Longoria, and today she celebrates her 39th birthday! The Texas-bornactress has come a long way since her role as Isabella Brana Williams on The Young and the Restless back in 2001, and since then she has showed no signs of slowing down.
In 2004, Longoria officially became a household name when she appeared on the small screen as Gabrielle Solis in the hit television series, Desperate Housewives—and who could forget her steamy moments with the gardener John Rowland (played by Jesse Metcalfe)–for eight successful seasons. Shortly following the show's finale, Longoria devoted herself to her humanitarian work and founded The Eva Longoria Foundation in 2012. “My foundation helps the women in the Latina community, with educational and entrepreneurial programs,” the starlet once told InStyle.com.
The actress also found time between her charitable efforts and filming to complete her Master's degree in Chicano and Chicana Studies from California State University Northridge in 2013, and even teamed up with former Housewives writer Marc Cherry to produce the primetime soap, Devious Maids, based off of popular telenovela Ellas Son la Alegrîa del Hogar.
Fast-forward to today, Longoria is proving she still has more work up her sleeves as she is currently filming Visions alongside Isla Fisher and Anson Mount. To celebrate her 39th birthday, look through our gallery to see how Longoria went from cheerleader to leading actress!
