Biography:
Indira Varma is an English actress born to an Indian father and a Swiss mother on May 14, 1973 in Somerset, England. She began her acting journey with the Musical Youth Theatre Company and went on to graduate from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1995. She made her film debut in the 1996 Indian movie Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love as Maya, one of the lead characters. The rest of the 1990s saw her act in the movies Clancy’s Kitchen, Sixth Happiness, and Jinnah.
In the 2000s, she had roles in Bride and Prejudice and Basic Instinct 2. She also has a prolific career on television. She had notable roles on the British shows Attachments, In a Land of Plenty, and numerous TV movies. From 2005 to 2007, she starred as Niobe of the Voreni on the TV series Rome. After appearing on the show Human Target, she was cast as Ellaria Sand on Game of Thrones.
