Not only did Jake Paul pick up an impressive victory over Nate Diaz but he will have also taken home a hefty pay packet.
The pair clashed earlier this month and Paul knocked down UFC veteran Diaz on his way to an unanimous decision victory after ten rounds of boxing.
And according to Paul, the event was a huge success from a financial perspective, as he said on BS w/ Jake Paul: "It's looking like 500k plus pay-per-views, biggest gate, and that's US pay-per-views.
"So, it means more because it costs more in the US, so massive numbers, massive success.
"There's statistics that show the Google searches from that night, we were number one most searched Google trend by ten times, trending everywhere, biggest gate, biggest ticket sales, biggest sponsorship."
And at a $59.99 pay-per-view price point in the US, this means the event generated just under $30m without even considering ticket sales and sponsorship.
More on Paul vs Diaz
With that being said, Paul's fight with Diaz did not perform as well as his clash with Tommy Fury earlier in the year, which reportedly sold more than 800k pay-per-views.
On that occasion, Paul suffered the first defeat of his fledgling boxing career, as he was beaten by split decision.
But, he quickly bounced back against Diaz and now Paul wants to have a rematch using mixed martial arts rules, having previously signed with the PFL (Professional Fighters League), a rival organisation to the UFC.
