Kathie Lee Gifford has been part of Today for more than a decade so it makes total sense that it feels like the end of an era. The co-anchor is set to exit the show very soon and her co-workers felt like paying tribute to their friend.
Kathie will be saying goodbye next week on the day that also marks her 11-year anniversary as part of the network alongside Hoda Kotb.
And since the departure is right around the corner, her famous co-stars have been celebrating her.
The list of colleagues and dear friends includes Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Carson Daly, and of course, Kotb, who is probably going to miss her the most!
Speaking of, during an interview for E! News, she gushed over her co-anchor of 11 years, saying: ‘When she walks in a room, she changes it and when she steps into your life and holds your hand, she changes it. It is hard to think I won’t get to see her in the mornings. I will still see her, but I will miss her. I will miss everything.’
She also mentioned at a farewell event organized for Kathie last night that she is ‘one of the most generous people you’ll ever run across…she’s this huge star, but she’s not afraid to share herself and share her sparkle and share her fame and share what she has to lift other people up. I think she is really the soul of our show and we love being here to toast her.’
Daly then said that ‘She was literally the first person I thought about after my mother passed away and I prayed ‘Please give me some of that grace Kathie Lee had when Mr. Gifford passed. That is the deep stuff when you talk about—what sort of woman is she? What kind of co-worker? She’s a saint.’

Roker also praised her, telling the news outlet that she is ‘a lesson in grace, of humor, of honesty, of faith,’ a woman so strong she continues to thrive no matter what life throws at her.
