According to a report from Fox News, authorities from the United Kingdom are no longer taking action against the rapper, Nelly, following accusations that he allegedly abused a woman at a concert in Essex, December 2017. Previously, a British woman had accused Nelly of assaulting her in a dressing room.

The incident allegedly occurred after a concert performance at Cliff’s Pavilion in Southend, reports the British Broadcasting Corporation. The woman chose not to cooperate with the authorities, and thus all the charges were dropped.

In January, the Essex police began their investigation after interviewing Nelly but they didn’t take any more action. The accuser then filed another lawsuit in the United States, which is currently underway.

In St. Louis, the anonymous woman filed a federal lawsuit as “Jane Doe,” and claimed the rapper coerced her into oral sex acts and also masturbated in front of her, claims USA Today.

Today, on Thursday, the rapper’s attorney criticized the idea of the accuser in the suit remaining unnamed. In September, Nelly agreed to settle to a different lawsuit from an American woman, Monique Green, who accused the rapper of raping her on his tour bus in Seattle.

She was a 22-year-old college student. Nelly then countersued the woman, accusing her of merely attempting to defame and ruin his already slowing career. The lawsuit was subsequently dropped in a dismissal agreement.

Nelly came to prominence in the early 2000s with songs like “Country Grammar,” “EI,” and “Ride Wit Me.” Some of his other tracks include, “Hot in Herre,” “Pimp Juice,” and #1.”

While Nelly hasn’t ever matched the success that came with his first record, the rapper has continued to put out albums consistently, however, he has encountered legal troubles several times, including a misdemeanor drug conviction in 2015.
